Norah, a single mother seeking Political Asylum in the U.S. due to abduction risks in her homeland, embarked on a path toward stability. Being new to the country and unfamiliar with available resources, she faced challenges. However, with determination and assistance from community programs, Norah quickly accessed resources. Despite initial difficulties in securing employment, she eventually landed a job at Pete’s Market, conveniently located near her home and her son’s school.
Through perseverance, she achieved remarkable progress, including legal representation for asylum, ESL classes, and financial stability. She expressed gratitude for the support received and shared news of her and her son’s U.S. work permits. This success story showcases the power of determination and community support in overcoming challenges. Thanks to the help of Siemer Institute, this journey was made possible with the guidance and support of our Success and Stability case manager.
